Our men and women who join up
Are special from the very start;
They think of others above themselves
This shows what's in their heart.

Their duties are not pleasant
They live for comradeship;
To serve and win their battles
Side by side as if joined at the hip.

For courage and bravery
They must be ten out of ten;
We hope they all come home again
We just don't know if and when.

Behind that long and lonely trenched line
To which men come and go, where brave men die,
There is a yet unmarked and unknown shrine,
A broken plot, a soldier’s cemetery.
There lie the flower of youth, the men who scorn’d
To live (so died) when languished Liberty:
Across their graves flowerless and unadorned
Still scream the shells of each artillery.
When war shall cease this lonely unknown spot
Of many a pilgrimage will be the end,
And flowers will shine in this now barren plot
And fame upon it through the years descend:
But many a heart upon each simple cross
Will hang the grief, the memory of its loss.

Arguments start from not a lot at all
They grow and grow till unseen;
Forgotten beginnings turn into tit for tat
Peace has gone as if never been!

Others then take on the fight
As bigger it still grows;
After all these years when will it end
Only heaven knows!

To all those not forgotten
Every single day;
Not sitting at their tables
Whilst their children sit and play.

The sons and daughters not at home
Whilst parents wait anxiously;
For messages to never stop
Whilst they serve courageously.

If there is a higher honor
Then I don't know what it is;
To die and do this service
Your countrymen still lives.

Courage and bravery the watchwords of hell
They are all we seem to hear;
We watch the news with bated breath
Sometimes it's more than we can bear.
Amazing personas each and everyone
They guard our skies and shore;
We will be indebted all our lives
Eternity and forever more.

Life is but a stopping place
A pause in what's to be;
A resting place along the road
To sweet eternity.

We all have different journeys
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things
But never meant to stay...

Our destination is a place
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker
For some the journey's slow.

And when the journey finally ends
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace
Together with the Lord.
