Belated Birthday Verses
****
It's too late to say I'm sorry
It's far to late for sorrow;
The best I can do
Is make it up tomorrow!
Maggie-May

I thought you said you'd given up
Birthdays were just not in anymore;
Now you're acting silly again
Just like you did before.
So are you or are you not
Celebrating this pagan thing?
Or shall we just go karaoke
To the pub and sing, sing, sing!
Maggie-May
****
This was totally an oversight
I am sorry really I am;
Can I do you twice as much
Forgive me I'm in a jam.
Payday's coming round
Halfway through next week;
There's that new shop in town
We can go and take a peek?
Maggie-May
****
This numbers game is a drag
I can't believe it's true;
That you're still trying to say
You're only fifty-two.
So come on let it all hang out
You know it will be a release;
Apart from that all the grandchildren
It's now your turn to fleece.

Belated Birthday Verses
****
I hope your day went very well
And all your dreams came true;
The man who has everything
To whom an apology is due.
I am so sorry that time just slipped by
As days go into weeks;
My memory's not so good you know
As into old age we creak.
Better late than never ay!
So Belated Happy Birthday!
****
Well I won't be the first to wish you
But I may well be the last;
To wish you a Happy Birthday
As a few days have now gone past!
SORRY!
****
My timekeeping has not improved
From last year round to this;
I really ought to take a look at calendars
Then birthdays I would not miss.
****
I hope that your day went well
With lots of love and laughter;
I just thought I'd carry on
Being late and celebrating after.
