Breaking Up Poems
****
All things come to an end
This has been from the beginning of time;
An eco system exists all round
That disintegrates when it is time.
Our time has come I'm afraid
Let's be honest we both know that's true;
A fabulous time for both of us
I wouldn't have missed it would you?
We've learned and loved so much
About what and what not to do;
Familiarity has now bred contempt
There is nothing more to do.
As this chapter comes to an end
It will always remain close to my heart;
Let's be happy that it happened
As now our roads do part.

Parting is all we know of heaven
and all we need to know of hell.

My
heart is broken and smashed to pieces
Alongside all my dreams;
You've left without a single word
At night you can hear my screams.
Nothing
worse than a woman scorned
Is how the saying goes;
It's worse than that for me right now
Because I really just don't know!
Just
tell me what has happened
To our love and plans together;
Or is it just the wedding jitters
Before our married life starts forever?

Breaking up is hard on you
I know you're left with the kids;
But my heart is no longer here
It's better than being hypocrites.
I will of course always be there
They're my children after all;
And yes I'll not stop coming round
And Yes I know I must call!
We've torn the hearts out of each other
We're not good to be around;
If this is done with some dignity
The children will be sound.
They're the ones who in amidst all of this
We need to be gentle, honest and true;
They are our fondest memories
Of the very best of me and you.

Goodbye…
I waited forever for someone like you,
What is it that you do?
One wave,
I cave.
But not this time
It’s me you’ll never find.
I was born to cry, hide, and loose,
But I was raised to think, love myself and choose.
You loved the drug, never me,
I trusted you, so just leave!
Everyone warned me,
But I couldn’t see.
Your hands covered my eyes,
And now they’re dry from all the cries.
So I’ll move on and just let go,
No more wondering, now I know.
Don’t care if you’re ok,
Your calls are just too late.
So it’s you I loved,
But it’s me I put above.
Are relationship has died,
And it’s me who has cried,
So I can finally say…goodbye.

Just who do you think you are
Going around breaking peoples hearts;
You lift them up a million miles
Swearing you'll never part.
God knows how many you've collected
You just can't help yourself;
I need mine back for the rest of my life
I'm not going to wait on a shelf.
So not only is this a break up
It's a never ever return;
I'm separating my soul from yours
For you I will never yearn.
****
I've packed my bags
And I'm ready to go;
I'm leaving you for good
But this you already know.
It's very sad it's worked out this way
But life didn't go according to plan;
It was good while it lasted
But I will never be your man.
