Funeral Verses
****
This is a journey on which we cannot come
But all our thoughts are with you;
We'll watch out for all the family
They are with us in the pew.
We will always love and miss you
Our hearts will never mend;
Daily mentions of your name
Our love will never end.
You are now at peace at long last
You were so very ill;
We will try our very best
We really, really will.
So goodbye from us
A husband and father like no other;
We've asked Jesus to watch out for you
And treat you like his brother.

God be in my head
and in my understanding,
God be in my eyes
and in my looking,
God be in my mouth
and in my speaking,
God be in my heart
and in my thinking,
God be at mine end
and at my departing.

Indian prayer
When I am dead
Cry for me a little
Think of me sometimes
But not too much
Think of me now and again
As I was in life
At some moments it’s pleasant to recall
But not for long
Leave me in peace
And I shall leave you in peace
And while you live
Let your thoughts be with the living
****
The longest sleep will now be yours
The one we all have in the end;
But yours came early and shocked us all
This funeral we should not attend.
You were the greatest friend
To all of us that are here;
We miss you so very much
Because you were very dear.
Kind and considerate to the very end
No matter how you felt;
May God be with you our young friend
As before his throne you are now knelt.

Funeral Verses
****
The world may never notice
If a Snowdrop doesn't bloom,
Or even pause to wonder
If the petals fall too soon.
But every life that ever forms,
Or ever comes to be,
Touches the world in some small way
For all eternity.
The little one we longed for
Was swiftly here and gone.
But the love that was then planted
Is a light that still shines on.
And though our arms are empty,
Our hearts know what to do.
Every beating of our hearts
Says that we love you.
****
When I am gone, release me -let me go
I have so many things to see and do;
You must not tie yourself to me with tears
Be happy that we had so many years.
I gave you love, you can only guess
How much you gave me in happiness;
I thank you for the love each have shown
But now it is time I travelled alone.
So grieve awhile for me if grieve you must,
Then let your grief be comforted by trust;
It is only for a while that we must part
So bless those memories within your heart.
I will not be far away, for life goes on.
So if you need me, call and I will come;
Though you cannot see or touch me, I will be near
And if you listen with your heart, you will hear.
All of my love around you, soft and clear.
Then when you must come this way alone,
I will greet you with a smile and
"Welcome Home"
****
I will never be far away
Just through that veil of tears;
I will always love you, you know that
Even after many years.
So go on and get on with life
It doesn't wait for anyone;
You'll be here soon enough
When all is said and done.
****
So what is love?
So what is love?If thou wouldst know
The heart alone can tell;
Two minds but with a single thought
Two hearts that beat as one.
And whence comes love? Like morning bright
Love comes without thy call
And how dies love? A spirit bright
Love never dies at all.

Funeral Verses
****
When God calls little children to dwell with him above
We mortals sometime question the wisdom of his love
For no heartache compares with,the death of one small child
Who does so much to make our world, seem wonderful and mild
perhaps God tires of calling the aged to his fold
So he picks a rosebud before it can grow old.
God knows how much we need them, and so he takes but few
To make the land of heaven more beautiful to view
believing this is difficult, still somehow we must try.
The saddest word mankind knows will always be "Goodbye"
So when a child departs, we who are left behind
Must realize God loves children
"Angels are hard to find"
****
Why do we find it so hard
Something that happens every day;
We've known it since we were born
So enjoy life what do you say?
We know that (....)He did just that
Right up to the very end;
Every second his life stirred within
Never wasted; I'm so glad I was his friend.
