Kwanzaa Verses
****

We wish to celebrate
And send our love to you;
Our brothers of Africa
We work alongside you.

Maintain the links and values too
That make us so unique;
It's not just the pigment color
That drives us, we're mystique.

Traditions of old are in our souls
To be built on and made stronger;
This brotherhood from way back when
Won't be held back any longer.

We have good ethics and work hard
We're loyal and united;
Together we can restore
That which history blighted.

There is room for all upon this earth
We need to work together;
For the good of all and what we can bring
To the table of life forever.

We will always flock together
Nature dictates that;
It's what we make of it now
Our chances have a welcome mat!

The world is now a different place
For us to fit right in;
Listen to your elders and
They will help us win.

The differences are noted
Between all and sundry;
These all go both ways
We don't want to blunder in.

Wisdom, kindness and our culture
Make us vibrant and very strong;
This will make some wary
We'll show them that they're wrong.

We can work and we can laugh
But justice is the game;
Worldwide in all the races
Calling for it now by name.

Kwanzaa Verses

May this holiday be enjoyed by all
Families coming together;
For friendships to surpass
The ones that last forever.

****

The celebrations carry on
From Christmas to New Year;
To celebrate our heritage
From all over everywhere.

****

We need to feel the togetherness
The love from communities;
To feel we're in control
Not by all these authorities.

We are law abiding citizens
To be trusted and be fair;
We haven't had a very good deal
From all of you up there.

The highest in the land we're told
Not true to values of their own;
Wondering why it's all gone wrong
It's those greed seeds you have sown.

We do not violate our integrity
We use tradition well;
Our art and color masterfully
Our culture not to sell.

We do not water down
Our symbols with those of others;
We stick closely to tradition
And that of all our brothers.
