New Home Poems

****

A house is not a home
Until my things are in;
Changing rooms around
Trying to fit things in.

My nest is full of memories
Of children and my life;
That's where I feel comfortable
If I have to change my life.

All's well that ends well
Is how the saying goes;
A clearing out is good to do
Evening out the status quo.

Bricks and mortar are no good
Without your soul to fill it;
So you go first I'm right behind
I'll be there in a minute.

I need to gather up my vibes
To bring them to our home;
My roots go down quite deep
Now there's no need to roam

A few more miles to go
But worth it wait and see;
If you'll just come the once
I'm sure you will agree.

I need the space, I need a view
An horizon would be nice;
Once you've seen it I know you will
Move with me in a trice.

Those makeovers that you see
The ones on TV every night;
Have a try, see how you feel
Maybe, you'll feel alright.

New things make you feel nice and fresh
Starting out all over again;
Energising every nano cell
Inspiring you looking over the fens.

Improvising your new workload
Between your new found hobbies;
You'll even get hooked on gardening
Spending all your cash in Dobbies

****
May the window catch the sun
Laughter resounding from within;
That all your troubles be little ones
A door that only love comes in.

A home that friends just love to call
Wishing that it was their own;
There really is no place at all
No place at all like home.

The postman won't call for a while
But be sure he will get there very soon;
Junk mail a thing of the past
Just laugh, a few days will be a boon.

Time to unpack all those boxes
To find a new place for your bits;
It takes sometime to work out where
Everything will really sit.

*****
I hope you like your new neighbours
Maybe not quite as much as me;
I'm going to miss you like hell
I'll have to visit and come and see.

Your new abode a different size
Not a mirror match of mine;
It will feel strange just for a while
More room to wine and dine.

Happiness I hope will follow you
Wherever you may go;
I'll let you settle in
Then visit for you to show!
