Retirement Verses

You're leaving you lucky so and so
No more six'o' clock starts;
You can choose your activity for the day
And follow your heart.
This may be to travel or painting a scene
Whatever you do at your pace;
We will miss you terribly round here
Because we all think you're Ace!

To get to this age and still be working
There are those that would think it's obscene;
But it's been your life's vocation
Oh-You know what I mean.
You've cared and loved for all the flowers
At the Garden centre for years;
Helping others with their gardens
And allaying all their fears.
Landscaping their lives along the way
Achieving contentment and peace;
In your wisdom you've given your love
We doubt this now will cease.
All the best for your leaving
We know you won't come to a halt;
You're far to busy helping everyone else
Because you are made from lifes salt!!

As a chapter closes in your life,
And a new one starts for you,
May your years be filled with all the things
You've been looking forward to!

Retirement must be wonderful. I mean, you can suck in your stomach for only so long.

Retirement Verses

You've been a fixture and a joy each day
You've cheered us up when we are down;
You've brought our tea round all the time
And never with a frown.
Hanging up your tea pot and pinny
It just won't be the same;
Enjoy your breaks at any old time
You're leaving us it's a shame.
Congratulations on your Retirement

Long days and lie ins
These are your plans for now;
But you will soon start wondering
How you found time to work anyhow.
Time whizzes by pottering around
Doing all the things that you've waited for;
Hobbies abound and friends keep in touch
Life now won't be a chore.
Enjoy the peace and the revelry
Listening to music and radio;
Travelling the world to see
Or setting up a studio.
Now's the time, the time that's yours
You know the stuff you've never had;
To do whatever comes into your head
Older age really isn't that bad!

There are those who just don't want to leave
Their place of work every day;
It's become such a part of their lives
They feel they'll have nothing to say.
Our big society needs all of us - don't worry
There's still plenty to do I'm sure;
Volunteering to help those worse off than us
Sometimes has little lure.
Others already have their flights booked
Or a cruise around the Med;
Others just want to be able to say
Today I'm staying in bed.
Our lives are now once again our own
To do with as we please;
Enjoy and conquer any past fears
It's absolutely the bees knees!

Congratulations on your well deserved retirement,
Wishing you every happiness in the years ahead.
No lying about your age, more lying around the house
After lying much longer in bed
As a chapter closes in your life,
And a new one starts for you,
May your years be filled with all the things
You've been looking forward to!
It is time to step aside
For a less experienced and less able man
It is time to do nothing
Because you can
It's No Job, No Stress, No Pay
It's goodbye tension...hello pension
It's spending your kids inheritance
It's when work never gets a mention
Take life with a pinch of salt
A shot of tequila and a wedge of lime
Do nothing at all
But take your time
All the meaning has gone out of weekends
Now you have a Life
With half the money
And twice the wife
Have a terrific retirement
You earned it!
