Stepping up to the mark
Has been hard to do;
I couldn't have done it
Without a friend like you.

I couldn't have wished for a better Mom
You've been more than a saint;
But don't go on about it to much
As patient is something I ain't!

Birthdays are for plonkers
If you need to know your age;
Then you are far too young
For adulthood to engage.

This Christmas lark has been around
For yonks and yonks right now;
I'm not sure whether to play along
Or give it up anyhow.

Don't get me wrong I like my friends
I have great joy in buying gifts;
But all this festive stuff
Where's the truth in all of this?

Was Jesus born at christmas
Not in Google that's for sure;
If not then whose birthday is it?
But Jesus don't ingnore.

Buy presents for each other
Don't talk to him all year round;
Ignore all his famous words
At our peril I'll be bound.

Will I need all things I learn
At school almost every day;
All those I've spoken too
No is what they say!

To my Mom and Dad
I love the bones of you;
You've taught me right from wrong
I now know what to do.

So may I take this chance
To wish you happiness;
You can take a rest from now
As I ask for your forgiveness.

My teenage years have been bad
I'm so sorry for all I did;
It never should've been that way
I'm leaving home to earn a few quid.

The teenage years are full of angst
The hormones run amok;
It's been all about me for a long time now
it's made your life a suck.

So sorry but I'm all out now
Hormones gone forever;
I'm turning into adulthood
I'll prove to you I'm clever.
